St Gabriel’s Bow Out of Connacht

St Gabriel’s bowed out of the AIB Connacht Intermediate Hurling Championship on Saturday in Ruislip, falling to a rampant Tooreen on a scoreline of 3–21 to 0–8.

The Mayo champions asserted control early and kept the pressure on throughout, handing our lads a chastening lesson at Provincial level and underlining the step up required in Connacht competition. While the result was disappointing on the day, it comes at the end of what has been a hugely successful year for the club, with St Gabriel’s proudly retaining the London Senior Hurling Championship for 2025.

This group has shown resilience, ambition and togetherness all year. The club will now regroup and reset for 2026, taking the experience from this provincial semi-final defeat and building on the strong foundations laid this year by the management team.

St Gabriel’s extends sincere thanks to the players, management team, the back-room team and all our loyal supporters for their commitment throughout the season.

A special thanks to those who travelled over for the games and also to Cairde Naomh Gabriel for their steadfast support.

We will learn from this defeat and return stronger next year.
